(Greenfield) Adair County Health System (ACHS) is pleased to announce employees
Kari Davis and Lee Fry recently received DAISY Awards. Davis received the award for extraordinary nurse, while Fry was honored with the award for extraordinary nurse leader.
The honors were presented at a ceremony on May 12 for Daisy award winners and nominees, including Jennifer Blaylock, Courtney Chafa, Colby Cowan, Kari Davis, Dylan Downing, Mackenzie Eddy, Lee Fry, Adrienne Heckman, Natalie Kovac, Emily Kuhns and Kendra Tiefenthaler.
The awards are part of The DAISY Foundation’s efforts to recognize the exceptional and compassionate care nurses provide to patients every day.
According to Catherine Hillestad, MHA, Chief Executive Officer at ACHS, “We are very proud to partner with DAISY, as we have outstanding nurses at ACHS. I know they are making a difference in the lives of our patients and it’s an honor to work with all of them. Congratulations to our Daisy Award winners Kari and Lee, and all the nominees.”
The not-for-profit DAISY Foundation is based in Glen Ellen, CA, and was established by family members in memory of J. Patrick Barnes. Patrick died at the age of 33 in late 1999 from complications of an auto-immune disease. The care Patrick and his family received from nurses while he was ill inspired this unique means of thanking nurses for making a profound difference in the lives of their patients and patient families.
What started out as a thank you from their family to nurses has grown into a meaningful recognition program embraced by healthcare organizations around the world. For more information on the Daisy Award and Daisy Foundation, visit http://DAISYfoundation.org.
