Former Clarke Co. Sheriff Ray Norris indicted on six new federal charges

CLARKE COUNTY, Ala. (WPMI) — Former Clarke County Sheriff Ray Norris has been indicted on six new federal charges.

He is accused of making false statements to town country national bank to obtain loans.

According to the indictment, Norris said he would use the money to help with the county jail but instead used it for personal expenses.

Norris was accused before of misusing campaign contributions, and using his office for personal gain. Those charges were dropped in March.
