A man was shot at a hotel in Shelbyville on Saturday morning, and a suspect is in custody, according to the Shelby County Sheriff's Department.Around 9 a.m., deputies responded to the call of a shooting at the Red Roof Inn located at 101 Howard Drive in Shelbyville.When they got there, they found a man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to UofL Hospital for treatment.Jayson Combs, 22, of Wichita, Kansas, was found at the scene and arrested on suspicion of the shooting. After reading him his rights, deputies said that Combs told them that he got into a fight with the victim before pulling his gun and firing once at them.The incident was captured on video which deputies say shows Combs and the victim fighting with Combs and then firing at him as Combs said.The victim was not determined to have had a weapon, and deputies say the video shows that as well. Combs has been charged with first-degree assault and will be arraigned on Tuesday in Shelby County.
