TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – WTWO and the Hoosier Lottery have teamed up to bring you the 2022 class of Hoosier Heroes!
Richard Bovair was nominated by his wife, Sarah. Richard served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years before retiring in 2008.
He has been filling his time volunteering at events like the Keltz Candy Cane Christmas in Parke County. When the real Santa doesn’t have time, Richard is happy to step into the red suit and hear the Christmas wishes of hundreds of children.
Richard is also quick to step in to help neighbors in need, doing things like mowing their grass when they’re ill or away.
Sarah says Richard is not only her hero but Parke County’s local hero!
