The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire is ranked among the nation’s best universities for quality, affordability and alumni success in Money magazine’s 2022 Best Colleges Rankings.

In the rankings released Monday, UW-Eau Claire is ranked 140th out of 623 colleges examined by the magazine, and among three public regional universities in Wisconsin to make the list.

Money’s rankings include only U.S. colleges that have sufficient reliable data to analyze and a graduation rate at least at the median for its institutional category (public, private or historically Black colleges and universities.)

Universities are ranked in three categories:

Quality of education: Graduation rate, including the transfer student population and a focus on Pell Grant recipients.

Affordability: Focuses on short- and long-term affordability. Short-term affordability measures include the net price of a degree, factoring in average financial aid, student and parental loans, and how long it takes to earn a degree. Long-term affordability measures student loan default and repayment rates.

Outcomes: Earnings and employment data that includes a return-on-investment measure and an economic mobility measure.
