FLINT, MI -- The misdemeanor case against Danielle Green, the former Flint school board president who allegedly assaulted another member during a committee meeting, has been pushed back to next month.
At her court date the morning of Monday, May 16, Green and her new attorney, Rico Neal, asked for the pretrial hearing to be delayed so Neal has time to speak with the prosecutor and review Green’s case.
Genesee County District Court Judge Herman Marable Jr. set a June 13 pretrial date at 9:30 a.m.
Nicholas Somberg, Green’s former attorney, said at her last appearance in court that they were very close to a plea agreement resolution. The district court record shows that Green filed to substitute her attorney on May 16.
The board member was charged by the City of Flint with misdemeanor charges of assault and battery and disorderly conduct on April 5. The alleged assault incident took place during a school board committee meeting on March 23 at the district’s administration building.
A special meeting took place the same day at which Green was stripped of her board presidency. Vice President Joyce Ellis-McNeal was elevated to board president and Carol McIntosh became the board’s new vice president.
Laura MacIntyre, the alleged victim, said she was treated for concussion symptoms and filed a Personal Protection Order against Green.
Green was previously given a $5,000 personal recognizance bond and stipulations including no contact with the victim.
