Staunton man seriously injured, another man killed in Augusta County fatal crash

AUGUSTA COUNTY – A Staunton man was seriously injured and another man has died at the scene of a two-vehicle crash that happened on May 11 in Augusta County.

At 1:27 p.m. on May 11, Virginia State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Little Calf Pasture Highway just north of Sunset Hill Lane, according to a release sent earlier from Virginia State Police.

A 2001 Toyota Echo was traveling south on Little Calf Pasture Highway when it crossed the centerline and struck an oncoming 2007 Chevrolet 3500, the release said.

The driver of the Toyota, Trenton A. H. Manwill, 35, of North Garden died at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the Chevrolet, Joseph R. Madden, 59, of Staunton was taken for treatment of serious injuries. He was wearing a seatbelt.

The crash remains under investigation.
