BRIGHTON TWP. — A 56-year-old Fenton man died Friday afternoon after a vehicle struck his motorcycle on Kensington Road near I-96.

The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, was transported to Ascension Providence Hospital in Novi where he was pronounced dead, according to a press release issued by the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.

Police said a 50-year-old Milford resident driving a Ford Fusion south on Kensington Road pulled over to check for directions shortly after 5 p.m. Then, while attempting a U-turn, he struck the victim's northbound 2011 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Neither the driver nor the 21-year-old passenger, of Highland, of the Ford Fusion were injured; both were wearing seatbelts.

The road was closed for about four hours following the crash as police investigated at the scene.
