Authorities identify 83-year-old man found murdered in his home

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Authorities have ID’d an elderly man found dead in his Birmingham home Monday.
The Jefferson County Coroner identified the man as Daniel Richard Garrick. He was 83.
Sgt. Rodarius Mauldin says around 9 a.m. May 16 police got a call that Garrick’s body was found in the 600 block of Sheridan Road after a welfare check.
No suspects are in custody, but police believe the victim knew his attacker and this is an isolated incident.
