May 16, 2022 - Over the week of May 9th through 15th the Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department had 7 calls. Here’s a brief breakdown of those calls.
First, on Monday, May 9th a call came in about a older man who had fallen and needed to be checked out by JVFD EMRs before being transported by Allegiance EMS.
Next on Tuesday, May 10th there was a brush fire across from the Joaquin Elementary School. The fire was not severe and the JVFD was able to put it out fairly quickly.
On Thursday, May 12th a dispatch came through about a fire alarm for a house off Highway 7. This was found to be a false alarm and thankfully the house was not on fire.
Friday the 13th lived up to its reputation and gave the JVFD 3 calls. The first was for traffic control for a tractor trailer that had run partially off the road on Highway 7, next was to set for a landing zone for a patient that had been picked up by ambulance, and the last was a woods fire on FM 3343.
The last call for the week came in late Sunday, May 15th for a man who fell off of a horse. The Joaquin VFD responded first to the scene to check out the patient before Allegiance EMS arrived to transport him.
This turned out to be a rather busy week for the Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department but all calls were conducted in a safe manner. With that, we hope that everyone has a great week going forward.
