Ewan McGregor Wants to Do More Star Wars Projects After Obi-Wan Kenobi

There is little doubt that people are eager to see Ewan McGregor all over again in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. After all, the Disney+ show is a once in a lifetime chance to revisit the Jedi Master and find out what he was up to before A New Hope. However, it looks like it won't be the only project where we'll get to see Kenobi again. McGregor has just confirmed that he wants to keep playing the beloved Star Wars character in more projects in the future.

People have been waiting for the Obi-Wan Kenobi standalone project for several years now and we're finally getting it this year. Interestingly, Ewan McGregor doesn't want it to end in just one limited series.

While talking to Total Film, Ewan McGregor stated that it "was nice to come back and to bridge that gap between me and Alec Guinness," referring to the late actor who originally played Kenobi in A New Hope.

"I got as much, or more, out of playing him this time than I did in the first three movies put together. That’s to do with the writing, and the people we were making the series with, and the technology, and how different everything is," he added. Interestingly, McGregor later admitted that if "we were to get an opportunity to do it again, I’d be totally up for that."

This is certainly welcome news for fans who are eager to see more of Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi. Although Kenobi is just a limited series, there are a lot of other Star Wars projects in development and we wouldn't be surprised if McGregor shows up in one of them. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is set for a two-episode premiere on May 27, 2022.
