The leading candidate in the Democratic U.S. Senate primary suffered a stroke but is on his way to a "full recovery."
A statement Sunday from Lt. Governor John Fetterman's campaign says he wasn't feeling well Friday and went to a hospital.
Fetterman says the stroke was caused by a heart condition called atrial fibrillation. He says he's "feeling much better, and the doctors" told him he suffered no cognitive damage.
Fetterman says the health emergency won't slow his campaign.
His wife - Gisele Fetterman - tells the NewsRadio KDKA morning show that John is feeling much better.
“Right now, I’ll be a little greedy with him and make sure he gets the proper rest he needs. I’m hoping to keep him for a week, whatever they feel is right. I’d like to add a couple of days to whatever they decide is the right number.”
