The Rangers are on to Carolina, and the NHL has released the second-round schedule for the Blueshirts-Hurricanes series:

GAME 1: Wednesday, May 18 at 7pm in Carolina
GAME 2: Friday, May 20 at 8pm in Carolina
GAME 3: Sunday, May 22 at 3:30pm at MSG
GAME 4: Tuesday, May 24 at 7pm at MSG
GAME 5: Thursday, May 26 TBD in Carolina
GAME 6: Saturday, May 28 TBD at MSG
GAME 7: Monday, May 30 TBD in Carolina

The first four games will be televised on ESPN, with Games 5-7 TBD for coverage depending on need.

This marks the second time the Rangers will face the Hurricanes in the playoffs, counting the team’s stints in both Hartford and Carolina. They also met in 2020 in the bubble, where the ‘Canes topped the Rangers in three games in the qualifying round before losing to Boston in the first round proper.

The Rangers completed a comeback from down 3-1 to Pittsburgh, winning Game 7 4-3 in OT on Sunday night. The last time the Rangers completed such a comeback was 2014, when they overcame the Pens in the Eastern Conference semifinals en route to the Stanley Cup Final.
