THREE PORTER: GOOD MORNING, BRANDI AND TEO, THEYRE A CONFIRMING THIS MORNING THERE WAS A HOMICIDE OUT HERE IN ROSEVILLE AND THIS ISHE T HAMPTON INN AND SUITES. 'SIT BEEN TRANSFORMED INTO HOMELESS HOUSING FOR RESIDENTS HERE IN ROSEVILLE. SO THEY RECEIVED A CALL AT 3:00 A.M. THIS MORNG,IN RESPONDING TO REPORTS OF A FIGHT HAPPENING OUTSIDE BETWEEN TWO MEN. WHEN OFFICSER ARRIVED ON SCENE. ONE OF THE THEN INVOLVED IN THAT ALTERCATION WAS FNDOU DEAD NEAR THE VALET HERE THE. THE SUSPECT WAS SEEN LEANGVI THE SCENE. OFFICERS ARE GOING THROUGH SURVEILLCEAN VIDEO AND INTERVIEWING HOMELSES WITNESSES ON SCENE TO IDENTIFYND A TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT SPARKED THE VIOLENCE AT THE SUNRISE HOT.EL THE AREA WILL BE CORNEDOD OFF FOR QUITE SOME TIME. THE INVESTIGATION IS AN ACTIVE ONE. THE CORONER IS STILL NOT ON SCENE SO THE VICTIM'S IDENTITY HAS NOT BEEN RELEASED BUT IT COULD BE SEVERALOR ME HOURS. SO AGAIN, THIS HOTEL ISOT N ONE THAT CAN BE USED BY THE REGULAR PUBLIC HERE. IT HAS BEEN SET UP FOR HOMELESS HOUSING, AND THIS JUST HAPPEDNE RECENTLY. An investigation is underway after a man was killed following an “altercation” in Roseville, according to police. One man has been arrested.The incident happened just before 3 a.m. Monday morning in the 100 block of North Sunrise Avenue. Police confirmed that this is the first homicide of the year for Roseville.The initial investigation found that the altercation was between two men. One of the men was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other fled in a vehicle, police said. By 3 p.m. 21-year-old Andrew Aguiar, of Sacramento, was taken into custody, the Roseville Police Department said. He was booked into the South Placer Jail on murder and assault charges. On Tuesday, police announced they had also arrested another suspect, 19-year-old Shirley J. Horton of Sacramento, on charges of accessory to a crime. The hotel was recently transformed into homeless housing in Roseville.Investigators are going through surveillance videos and interviewing other guests experiencing homelessness to determine what sparked the violence.Anyone with further information is urged to contact the Roseville Police Department at 916-774-5000.
