Carroll County 4-H Agent Amanda Paschall Wins State Awards

Carroll County, Tenn.–Amanda Paschall, Carroll Count 4-H Agent, received the Achievement in Service Award at the State Tennessee Association of 4-H Extension workers held at Pickwick Landing. This award recognizes current NAE4-HA members who have shown outstanding achievement in creative and innovative programming. Tennessee’s ASA recipient is selected from those who have previously received the George S. Foster Award. Paschall received the George S. Foster award in 2021. 

In addition to this award, Paschall and several of her colleagues won numerous specialty awards with their 4-H work during COVID-19 utilizing the Nearpod platform. The state Nearpod team conducted training and in-services, developed templates and activities that could be utilized virtually or in-person throughout the pandemic. The team won 2nd place in developing an educational package and 2nd place in exhibits, 1st in peer professional development, 1st in a promotional piece by a team, and 1st in media presentations by a team. 

Paschall began her Extension career at the TSU Benton County 4-H Agent in Camden, TN in 2014. In 2019, she moved to a full-time UT Extension Agent in Carroll County. She serves all five school districts in Carroll County as well as homeschool and other groups. Paschall grew up in the Henry County 4-H program and loves being able to provide kids with some of the great opportunities that she had growing up and more.
