Tuscaloosa woman dies in early Saturday wreck

A woman from Tuscaloosa has died in the wake of a wreck early Saturday morning in Sumter County.
The wreck happened just before 1 a.m. May 15, on Alabama Highway 116 near Spring Valley Church Road, about 4 miles west of Gainesville.
Pearlie M. Ivy, 57, of Tuscaloosa was fatally injured when the sedan she was driving left the road, struck a sign post and a driveway headwall before it went airborne and hit several trees. Ivy was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Highway Patrol Division is investigating the cause of the wreck.
