Ric Flair Set For Comeback Match On July 31

Ric Flair is doing one more match.

On May 10, Ric Flair, 73, uploaded a second video of himself in the ring training with Jay Lethal. Flair performed some of his signature offense and took some bumps, including a scoop slam and a suplex. The first video of Flair training with Lethal was uploaded on April 18.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reported that Flair is training to wrestle again with the "rumor" being that he would team with FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) against The Rock 'n' Roll Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson) and a partner.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider provided additional details, reporting that Flair is looking to a one-night in-ring return in the summer, but no exact date or month was given. It was noted that the match would not be for AEW or WWE.

Johnson adds that the "working plan" is for the match to be a multi-man bout.

Marc Raimondi of ESPN reports the bout will take place on July 31 at an independent wrestling show at the Nashville Fairgrounds. The show will stream on FITE TV.

"I'm going to walk that aisle one last time to prove once and for all that to be the Man, you've got to beat the Man," Flair said in a statement to ESPN.

Flair has not wrestled since 2011 when he faced Sting in IMPACT Wrestling. He did get physical at AAA TripleMania XXIX in August 2021 when he accompanied Andrade El Idolo to the ring. Flair delivered chops and punches to Kenny Omega and locked Konnan in a figure four.
