Pompano Beach-based Current Builders announced that Gary Weinfeld joined as director of accounting. Weinfeld was controller for real estate developer, The Trump Group; financial reporting manager for the private residential ship, The World; and audit senior accountant for public accounting firm Grant Thornton LLP.
Shawmut Design and Construction opened an office in West Palm Beach, and Dan Paulus joined the company as director-business development, for South Florida.
Suffolk hired George P. Adornato as its new chief operating officer for Florida’s east coast.
Associated Builders and Contractors Institute Apprenticeship College, the education and training arm of Associated Builders and Contractors Florida East Coast chapter, announced that Nathan Ferree joined as its chief operating officer.
Finance
Fiske & Co. announced the addition of Erica Rayter as a forensic and valuation services senior.
Real estate, property
AKAM, a residential property management company announced that Property Management Executive Regan Marock was promoted from vice president, to senior vice president, Southeast. AKAM’s Florida office is in Dania Beach. Hernandez was promoted from his previous role of regional asset manager. Prior to that he was an acquisitions agent.
PropertyForce announced newly created positions with the promotions of Shane Sullivan to vice president and managing director of acquisitions and Dan Hernandez to vice president and managing director of asset management, in Hallandale Beach.
JLL announced that Roderick Barnes was appointed Florida Region market director, in Miami. Most recently, Barnes was managing director of Integrated Portfolio Services, for JLL in New York City.
Law
Clark, Fountain, La Vista, Prather & Littky-Rubin announced that partner Nancy La Vista is the recipient of the 2022 Compassionate Gladiatrix Award, presented by the Florida Justice Association, for her dedication to the legal profession and achievements in the courtroom.
The Legal Aid Service of Broward County (LAS) and Coast to Coast Legal Aid of South Florida honored legal professionals for their commitment to ensuring access to justice for some of the most vulnerable members of the community during the annual Recognition Awards ceremonies held during Law Week, May 2–6. This year’s individual award recipients are: Attorney of the Year – Jay Cohen ; Spirit of Justice Award – Chad Van Horn ; Commitment to Justice Award – Kathleen Pugh ; Russel E. Carlisle Advocacy Award – Lorna Brown Burton; and Jacquelyn and Bruce Rogow Employee of the Year – Laurie Yadoff .
Kenyetta N. Alexander , a partner at Osherow PLLC, was elected to the Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad College of Law Board of Governors.
Fox Rothschild LLP announced that Megan A. McNamara was named a partner in the Litigation Department, based in the firm’s West Palm Beach office.
Matthew DellaBetta , a former federal and state prosecutor, joined Kelley | Uustal. DellaBetta was deputy chief of the Violent Crimes and Gangs section for the United States Attorney’s Office in the District of Maryland.
Brinkley Morgan announced that Attorney Brent V. Trapana was named partner of the firm in Fort Lauderdale. Trapana is a member of the firm’s Marital and Family Law Practice Group.
Merrick Gross was reappointed to serve on The Florida Bar’s Civil Procedure Rules Committee. Gross has served on this committee since 2020. Gross has a multifaceted commercial litigation practice.

Feeding South Florida announced that Michelle Esposito was appointed to the organization’s board of directors for a three-year term. Esposito is vice president of IT for JM&A Group, a subsidiary of JM Family Enterprises.
Coral Springs-based nonprofit, Y I Love Jewish, a division of The Yiddishkayt Initiative, announced Mark W. Glickman as its new executive director.

The Maroone Cancer Center at Cleveland Clinic’s Weston Hospital announced the addition of Candice Schwartz , MD, board-certified in internal medicine and medical oncology and hematology.
Technology
Miami-based Spark Cooperative, an entertainment, technology, and customer experience partner based in Miami, announced the promotion of Marilou Jaen to senior director of strategy.
Ubicquia announced Antoinette Bush , executive vice president and global head of government affairs at News Corp, joined its board of directors, in Fort Lauderdale. Also, Heather Ritchie , former chief marketing officer of Nokia’s Cloud and Network Services business joined Ubicquia as its first CMO.

Univision announced that Aly Sánchez was appointed co-host of Univision’s daily show, El News Café, weekday mornings on UniMás 69 and weekday afternoons on WLTV Univision 23. Previously, Sánchez appeared in television novelas such as Necesito una Amiga, (I Need a Friend) and Venevision’s Alma Indomable, (Indomitable Soul).
