Tecumseh, MI – Tecumseh Public Schools is going back to the community to learn more about why their recent bond renewal proposal did not pass.

Recently, school board members voted to reintroduce it on the November 8th, 2022 ballot. The board also voted to allow the current 7.2 mills to decrease by 3.6 mills, which officially takes place on June 30th. The District had an option to refund the current bonds and extend the full 7.2 mills for one more year, but declined.

The District has sent out a survey about the bond to TPS families and post it on social media platforms for other stakeholders to view and fill out.

The survey will also be on the District’s website by clicking here… and will be open until May 20th.

Tecumseh Public Schools will hold two public meetings, one in-person and one virtual, to have a conversation about why the May 3rd proposal failed and let the community give input about the new proposal.

Tune into our local and state newscasts, anytime day or night, for this story and more.
