Man shot, killed in New Castle

NEW CASTLE, Pa. (WKBN) – According to police, a man admitted to shooting another man in New Castle on Sunday.

The shooting happened around 11:20 p.m. in the 800 block of Bonzo Street.

The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Miles Roberson.

An officer said he was patrolling the area when he heard five gunshots. He saw a man standing on a porch on Bonzo street, who he said immediately put his hands up and admitted to shooting someone with a gun that he then dropped on the porch.

The 21-year-old suspect was arrested. Police have not identified him yet.

The officer said Roberson’s body was lying on the sidewalk near the porch with gunshot wounds. The officer tried to give him first aid, with no success.

The New Castle Police Department is investigating. More information will be released when it becomes available.
