Uline hiring for new distribution center in Alburtis

New facility will bring nearly 120 new jobs to the region

Shipping supply company Uline, with facilities in the Allentown area, will hire between 90 and 120 employees to staff a new distribution center it plans to open later this year.

The new distribution center is necessary, according to the company, to accommodate the “double-digit growth” the company has experienced over the past five years.

Uline is hiring and training now, to fill the needed positions — including warehouse associates, material handlers, forklift operators, mechanics, warehouse clerks, custodians and managerial staff. The facility is expected to open during the third quarter this year.

Uline already employs nearly 1,000 at its facilities in the Allentown-area.

“Uline’s expansion over the last few years has been monumental, and we anticipate it trending this way for many years to come,” Wade Goff, senior director of redistribution,” said in a statement. “Our continued growth led to a need for an additional distribution center in the Pennsylvania market to serve Uline’s locations across our North American footprint.”

The company said that during the pandemic, Pennsylvania businesses relied on its products as they adjusted their operations — purchasing to-go containers for restaurants, cleaning and janitorial supplies for grocery and retail, and personal protective equipment for hospitals and testing sites.

As many businesses gradually return to pre-pandemic operations, Uline said demand for its catalog of business products continues to grow.

According to a press release, Uline’s new facility at 8449 Congdon Hill Drive in Macungie Township will distribute Uline’s wide range of products including shipping supplies and safety products to branches nationwide.

The company said positions at the new distribution center have salaries that start at $25 per hour. For more information, visit Uline.jobs.
