LEXINGTON, Va. (WFXR) — Washington and Lee women’s lacrosse put on a clinic on Sunday afternoon, shutting out Transylvania, 21-0, in the second round of the NCAA Division III championship.
The Generals jumped out to an 8-0 after the first quarter before nearly doubling that lead by halftime, leading 15-0 at the break.
Twelve different players scored for Washington and Lee, led by Allie Schwab, who had four goals in the victory.
The win marked W&L’s first shutout since a 29-0 result over Bridgewater on April 21, 2021.
The Generals advance to the third round where they’ll face No. 12 Wesleyan (Conn.) next weekend.
