Authorities also discovered a second man with an apparent non-life-threatening injury. He was treated on the scene, but refused to be taken to the hospital.

The initial investigation indicates that the men involved knew each other. Police say this was an isolated incident.

Joseph R. Austin III, 37, of Roanoke and Dashaun L. Williams, 23, of Windsor, North Carolina have both been charged with malicious wounding. Austin also has been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The men were taken into custody without incident.
