Two dogs dead after possible explosion at Poynette home

The people living in the home were able to get out safely

POYNETTE, Wis. (WMTV) - Officials in Poynette are investigating what caused a house fire Sunday night, saying an explosion may have sparked the flames. No one was hurt, but two dogs died in the fire.

The home is on 500 block of East Tomlinson St. in Poynette. An image shared with NBC15 News showed flames filling the home’s porch.

Columbia County dispatch confirmed a call for the fire came in at 8:09 p.m.

The Poynette Dekorra Fire Department says 23 members of their department responded along with nine members of Arlington Fire Department.

Dispatch also confirmed no one was home at the time of the fire. The official cause of the fire remains under investigation.
