Atlanta United recorded its sixth draw this season on Sunday against the New England Revolution. Another example of a game where United dominated and was in control for the majority of the match but could not come away with the win.

Thiago Almada opened the match up for Atlanta with his goal to give them the early lead in the 17th minute. New England's Adam Buska had his first two goal game of the season, the first in the 30th minute and the second that gave the Revolution the lead just ten minutes after half time. The final goal of the match was scored by Luiz Araujo on an assist by Almada. Both clubs had chances to win it at the end of regulation and the two minutes of stoppage time, but neither could pull out the win.

United held possession for 53% of the match and had nearly twice as many shots than New England did, 25-14. As well as, just appearing to be the better team in the match if you weren't paying attention to the score. This is a scene that is all to familiar to Atlanta. In a game where United was in control and the more aggressive club the majority of the match, they could not get it to translate to a win.

Dropping the matches that should be wins for United could come back to haunt them as they look forward to the playoffs. In an Eastern Conference that is very competitive, every point a club can pick up on the field is crucial. United currently sits at seventh in the conference after the draw on Sunday and are only separated by two points with DC United.

The club needs to find a way to pull out W's in these matches or they could find themselves looking in from the outside come time for the postseason.
