The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is investigating after someone broke into the Beaufort County Public Works facility in Burton and stole $40,000 worth of items.The theft occurred sometime between May 11 and May 12, according to BCSO.Among the items stolen were a white 2008 Ford F-250 pickup truck with South Carolina license plate CG63025 and various pieces of landscaping equipment like weed eaters, blowers, hedge trimmers, pole saws and chain saws. Anyone who has information on who is responsible or where the stolen property is should contact LCpl.
