Driver flown to hospital after Clark County car crash

CLARK COUNTY, Ill. (WICS/WRSP) — A man had to be flown to a hospital after a car crash in Clark County on May 14, 2022.

At around 4:20 p.m., Illinois State Police said a driver of a Ford Mustang drove off the road on I-70 near milepost 134 in Clark County and crossed the median and both westbound lanes.
The Mustang driver, 28-year-old Fredrick Knighten, then struck a tree north of the westbound lanes.
Police said Knighten was flown to a regional hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

ISP said Knighten was cited for multiple charges including Unlawful Possession of Cannabis, Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident and Improper Lane Usage and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.
