The Miami Dolphins were one of the big winners of the 2022 NFL offseason. Headlined by the blockbuster Tyreek Hill trade, the ‘Fins have made several upgrades to their roster. Even this deep into the offseason, they are adding more reinforcements.

According to sports analyst Jordan Schultz, the Dolphins are signing veteran pass rusher Melvin Ingram. The free agent visited the Dolphins a few days ago and will not be officially joining the squad.

Ingram, a three-time Pro Bowler, spent last season with the Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers. The 33-year-old recorded just 25 total tackles and 2.0 sacks in 15 games last season. Although he isn't the star he once was with the Los Angeles Chargers, he should be able to help the Dolphins' defense as they look to get back into the playoffs.

While Hill was one of many offensive additions, the Dolphins' defense already has a strong unit. With Keion Crossen being the only notable addition, Ingram will join Xavien Howard, Emmanuel Ogbah, Jaelan Phillips and Jerome Baker. Miami has been very close to the playoffs in both of the last two seasons and has revamped its offense and bolstered its defense in an attempt to break a five-year playoff drought.

Miami added free agents Hill, Terron Armstead, Cedrick Wilson and Chase Edmonds to help Tua Tagovailoa elevate his game. As they look to round out their roster, the Dolphins could still look for help in the trenches. With a great team around him, Ingram could bounce back and have a very productive season with the Dolphins.
