Pekin woman dies in wreck involving motorcycles and a truck

A Pekin woman is dead after a motorcycle that she was riding on hit a truck that was traveling with a trailer.

Illinois State Police reported Tammy Moore, 52, of Pekin was pronounced dead by the Mason County coroner at 3:16 p.m. Saturday.

The accident involved three different drivers, all of whom were traveling north on Illinois Route 10 near 1300N in Mason County.

ISP said James Williams, 66, of Easton was driving a Ford truck that was hauling a trailer. Charles Moore, 56, of Pekin was driving a Harley-Davidson motorcycle that was behind Williams when the truck slowed to take a left turn. Edward Parker Jr., 70, of Peoria was on a different motorcycle headed northbound and also behind the truck.

Charles Moore and Parker tried to pass on the left and hit the truck, according to the Illinois State Police.

Moore was flown to a regional hospital with life-threatening injuries, and Parker was taken by ambulance to an area hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Williams reported no injuries. Moore was cited for driving left of center near an intersection.
