The Chevy Spark is currently the most affordable model in the automaker’s current lineup. Even in the subcompact SUV segment, it isn’t easy to find a new car for less than $20,000. When a new car is so cheap, drivers also tend to question the vehicle’s performance and reliability.

The Chevy Spark seems to be a well-balanced and dependable car, with mostly positive reviews from critics. Best of all, even the Spark’s highest trim boasts a very affordable MSRP. Here’s the cost and everything a fully-loaded Chevy Spark has to offer, straight from Chevrolet itself.

But first: what’s the baseline price of a 2022 Chevy Spark?

The 2022 Chevy Spark LS with a standard five-speed manual transmission retails for a mere $14,595. Swapping out the manual gearbox for a CVT costs just $100.

Between the lowest and highest trims are the Spark 1LT and the Spark Activ options. The 1LT trim starts at $16.495 with the manual transmission and $17,595 with the automatic gearbox. It also includes steering-wheel-mounted infotainment controls, power windows, and keyless entry.

The 2022 Chevrolet Spark Activ gains a plastic-clad fascia and roof rails, making it appear more adventurous. However, since the Spark is only available with FWD, it’s no off-roader by any stretch of the imagination. Depending on your transmission choice, this model can be bought for either $17,595 or $18,695.

With the automatic transmission, the range-topping Chevy Spark 2LT has an MSRP of $19,095. If you’re fond of the manual option, it can be yours for just $17,995.

What do you get when you buy the 2022 Chevy Spark 2LT?

Every Chevy Spark comes with the same engine, a puny four-cylinder capable of 98 horsepower and 94 lb-ft of torque. According to Car and Driver, it requires nearly 11 seconds to reach 60 mph. Even so, the engine feels peppy while you’re driving around town, especially with the smooth shifts offered by the CVT. It also gets the best mileage with the CVT, estimated at 30/38 mpg combined city/highway rating.

Like the 1LT trim, the Chevy Spark 2LT features keyless entry and power windows. It’s also the only trim to offer push-button start. Four people can sit inside the Chevy Spark 2LT on seats with synthetic leather trim. Additionally, heating is standard for both rows.

Unlike many other cars in this price range, the Chevy Spark boasts quality materials with solid craftsmanship. However, there’s no getting around the cramped dimensions. There’s not much legroom in the second row, and the seat cushions are too thin to offer long-term support.

The infotainment system is controlled through a 7-inch screen and comes with standard smartphone integration. The base audio setup is upgraded to six speakers in the 2LT, and satellite radio is also included.

Spruce up your Chevrolet Spark with these options

According to Chevrolet, the Chevy Spark 2LT is the only trim with the available Driver Confidence Package. It’s priced at $295 and includes automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and forward-collision warning. Every trim can be optioned with the interior protection package, which offers a set of all-weather floor mats for $225.

Additionally, 15-inch chrome aluminum wheels are standard, and the optional silver-plated wheels cost $1,100. You can make the exterior stand out with either red or gray wheel inserts and black bowtie badges. A power sunroof can also be optioned for $1,000.

The Chevy Spark doesn’t have the most potent engine, nor does it offer spacious accommodations. However, it’s hard to find a car as cheap and fuel-efficient in today’s market.  Since this is the Spark’s final year, you won’t be able to take advantage of this deal for much longer.
