Shocking Video Appears To Show Burnley Fan Making Nazi Salute Towards Tottenham Fans

Tottenham and Burnley released statements in wake of the incident.

A Burnley fan has been arrested after performing what appeared to be a Nazi salute in the direction of Tottenham fans.

Footage filmed at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium shows the Burnley supporter appearing to make a sick taunt towards the home end.

Match day stewards were alerted following complaints from Spurs fans, with the two visiting supporters removed from the stadium.

The Metropolitan Police subsequently confirmed that two men had been arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence.

Spurs and Burnley both released statements in wake of the incident on Sunday.

In a statement on social media, Spurs said: "The club can confirm two visiting supporters have been identified and arrested following discriminatory gestures at today’s match.

"We shall be supporting the police with their investigation."

Burnley added: "We can confirm there have been arrests in the away end today following reports of discrimination.

"This is now a police investigation and, collectively, we will work with Tottenham Hotspur, Met Police and Lancs Police on this matter."

Met Police said: "During the Tottenham v Burnley match on Sunday, 15 May, officers were alerted to two men who had been ejected from the Burnley section of the stadium.

"Both men were subsequently arrested by Met officers on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence. They have been taken into custody."

As for the actual Premier League game, Spurs ran out 1-0 winners thanks to a first half penalty from Harry Kane.

Antonio Conte's side move into fourth spot ahead of Arsenal's game at Newcastle United on Monday.

Burnley, on the other hand, drop into the relegation zone after Leeds United rescued a late point against Brighton.
