COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado — Detectives with the Colorado Springs Police Department's Violent Crimes Section are investigating the death of a woman at a park in Briargate.
Officers were called to Rampart Park at around 10:30 p.m. on a report of a shooting. They located the victim when they arrived.
The El Paso County Coroner's Office revealed the victim's identity as 32-year-old Abigail Miller of Dayton, Ohio.
Miller's death has been ruled a homicide and is the 20th homicide investigation for Colorado Springs. This time last year, CSPD had investigated 17 homicides.
CSPD says this was a random act of violence and a suspect hasn't been identified. There is not a known immediate specific danger to the community.
