The CEDC and CCC boards will consider additional funds to pay for the boat dock at Memory Lake, paying for new furniture for the EDC Director, purchase new sound equipment and furniture for the Council chamber.  They will also be meeting with a prospective business owner for Coleman.  See agenda attached and below: 

The Board of Directors of the Type A Coleman Economic Development Corporation ("CEDC") and the Type B Coleman Community Coalition ("CCC") will meet in joint session on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 6:00p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 200 West Liveoak, Coleman, Texas.  All items on the agenda are for possible discussion and action. The board may vote and/or act upon each of the items listed on this Agenda. One agenda item will be discussed at a time, in the order determined by the Chair, unless logic and practical considerations allow similar topics to be considered together for purposes of convenience and efficiency. Hearing of Visitors

  • Any citizen who desires to address the Board on a matter not included on the agenda may do so at this time. The Board may not deliberate on items presented under this agenda item. Presentations are subject to three (3) minutes for items not on the agenda. If you wish to speak to an item on the agenda, you will be allowed to speak when the Board addresses the item.
  • There is a (3) minute time limit for items on the agenda. The presiding officer (with the consent of a majority of the Board) may grant additional time. To comply with the provisions of the Open Meetings Act, the Board respectfully requests that prior to addressing the Board, that each person submit a Speaker Request Form stating your name, address, and topic of presentation. The form is located at the entryway to Council Chambers.

New Business

  1. To consider, discuss and/or take action on renewing ARCIT membership for 2022, splitting the $395.00 fee between the CEDC and CCC. 
  2. To consider, discuss and/or take action on approving additional funds for the grant match for the boat dock at Memory Lake with both boards contributing $2,666.66 each to help cover the extra expenses. The Coleman County Foundation awarded $11,000.000 in November of 2021 and construction/installation has just been completed. The City of Coleman will cover the remaining cost. 
  3. To consider, discuss and/or take action on approving funds up to $4,000.00 to be split by the CEDC and CCC to purchase office furniture for the Director of Economic Development. Funds will be split between the CEDC and CCC. 
  4. To consider, discuss and/or take action on approving funds up to $1,500.00 to be used for the 2022 Jr. Business Academy. Funds will be split between the CEDC and CCC. 
  5. To consider, discuss and/or take action on approving funds up to $2,500.00 to help replace and upgrade microphones and the sound board and funds up to $2,000.00 to help replace 10 Executive chairs for Council Chambers. Cost will be split between the CEDC and CCC. Matching funds to be provided by the City. 
  6. To consider, discuss and/or take action on a request from Newberg Investment Inc. for an incentive for a new startup business located at 200 Airport Road.  
  7. To consider, discuss and/or take action on existing projects that are being evaluated for compliance and to review workforce numbers.
