PhotoFest! 1A/2A/3A East Regional Track-Newcastle

There was a triple regional track meet in Newcastle over the weekend with the 1A, 2A, and 3A East holding their big event in Weston County. In 1A girls, Jordan Stoddard had a phenomenal meet with wins in 4 events, the 100-meter dash in 12.92, the 200 meters in 26.50, the high jump at 5-3, and the long jump at 18-5. In the rest of the 1A girl's track events, Natalie Speckner of Lingle-Fort Laramie won the 800 in 2.38.61 and the 1600 meter run in 6.14.07, Kaycee's Karcee Maya won 3 events, the 400 meters in 1.01.79, the 100 hurdles in 17.18 plus the 300 hurdles in 49.14. In the 1A girl's relays, Southeast won the 4x100, Lingle won the 4x400, and the 1600 medley with Hulett winning the 4x800. In the rest of the field events, Shelby Ekwall of Southeast won both of the throwing events with a toss of 41-1 in the shot put and 101-10 in the discus. Jerrica Caylor of Upton cleared 9 feet even to win the pole vault and Southeast's Angie Logsdon went 32-4.25 to win the triple jump. Lingle was in first place in the team standings with 169 points, Southeast 2nd with 154, and Upton 3rd with 105.5.

In 2A girls, Mallory Jones of Moorcroft won all three distance races, 2.3078 in the 800, 5.36.51 in the 1600, and 11.50.06 in the 3200. Glenrock's Isabella Taylor placed first in the 100 and the 200 with times of 12.93 and 27.20. The 400-meter dash winner was Jane Pendergast of Tongue River in 1.02.19. Big Horn's Peyton McLaughlin won the 100 hurdles in 17.08 and she won the 300 hurdles too in 49.37. Glenrock won the 4x100 relay, and the 4x400 with Pine Bluffs winning the 4x800, and Tongue River took the 1600 medley. In the rest of the 2A girl's field events, Alyssa Slade from Pine Bluffs cleared 4-10 to take the high jump. Melody ZumBrunnen went 17-8 to place first in the long jump, the triple jump winner was Cathy Purdam of Pine Bluffs at 34-2.5 with Summer Schumacher clearing 8-5 to win the pole vault. Monse Serrano threw 33-4 to win the shot put with Ann-Marie Young of Glenrock throwing 114-7 to win the discus. Teamwise, Tongue River was first with 149 points, Glenrock 2nd with 136, and Pine Bluffs 3rd with 130.

Over in the 3A girl's meet, Wheatland's Desirae Iaccovetto continued her outstanding season with a win the 100-meter dash in 12.97 and the 200 in 26.87. Her teammate Lily Nichols has been great this year too as she won the 400 in 1.00.02 In the distance races, Ryann Smith from Rawlins won the gold in the 800 in 2.19.08, the 1600 in 5.08.83 and the 3200 in 11.18.56. Rawlins Eva Nitschke swept the hurdle races as she won the 100 in 15.38 and the 300 in 47.19. Wheatland won the 4x100, Torrington the 4x400, Buffalo the 4x800 and Rawlins took the 1600 medley. In the throwing events, it was a sweep for Sierra Allen of Torrington, throwing 109-9 in the discus and 34-3 in the discus. In the rest of the field events. Lily Nichols of Wheatland prevailed in the long jump at 16-4.50, Ina King of Thermopolis won the triple jump in 34-3-25, Emma Norris from Burns went 5 feet even to win the high jump and the pole vault winner was Mattilyn Jones of Torrington at 10-1. In the 3A girls team standings, Torrington first with 160, Buffalo 2nd with 138.5, and Rawlins 3rd with 118.

Over to the 1A boys division in the East regional, Ryan Clapper of Southeast wins the 100-meter dash in 10.98 and the 200 meters as well in 22.64. Kyland Fuller of Lingle took the tape in the 400 in 50.46. Fuller also won the 800 in 2.05.59 with Myles Wilson of Lingle taking the 1600 meter run in 4.58, Wilson also was victorious in the 3200 with a clocking of 11.01.6. In the hurdle events, Lingle freshman Louden Bremer ran 17.42 to win the 110 and he ran 42.96 to win the 300, In the relays, Southeast won the 4x100 with Lingle winning the 4x400, the 4x800, and the 1600 medley In the field events, Quincy Paris from Midwest wins the high jump at 5-7, Luca Brooks of Upton takes the long jump with a leap of 216-5 and he also won the triple jump going 43-6.5. The pole vault winner was Grant Logsdon at 11-4 with Oliver Boyd of Lingle sweeping the weight events going 43-6.5 in the shot and 134-4 in the discus. In the 1a boys team standings, Lingle rang up 191 points for 1st, Upton 2nd with 139, and Southeast 3rd with 99.5.

In 2A boys, Jax Zimmer of Big Horn ran 11.46 to win the 100, and Garrett Ostler won the 2 other sprints in 23.53 in the 200 and 50-16 in the 400. Al Spotted of Tongue River won the 800 and the 3200 in 2.02.57 and 10.16.98 respectively. Wyatt Ostler from TR took first in 1600 in 4.31.3. Caleb Gibson of Big Horn won the 110 hurdles in 16.02 and Tongue River's Javin Walker captured the 300 in 41.71. In the relays, Big Horn won the 4x100 and the 4x400, with Tongue River winning the 4x800 and Sundance the 1600 medley. In the field events, Keaton Mills of Sundance went 6-2 to win the high jump, Garrett Ostler of TongueRiver goes 22-3 to take the long jump, Stu Lerwick of Pine Bluffs went 41 feet even to win the triple jump and Carson Rabou of Pine Bluffs cleared 11-4 to win the pole vault, In the throwing events, Jacob Knobloch of Tongue River tossed 52-2 to win the shot and Josh Thompson threw 137-6 to take the discus. In the team standings, Tongue River with a whopping 229 points, Big Horn 2nd with 159, and Pine Bluffs 3rd with 87.

Finally, in 3A boys, Wheatland's Rodee Brow has been fantastic all year long as he won the 100 in 11.13, the 400 in 49.29 plus the pole vault at 14 feet even. The 200-meter dash winner was Brendan Flock of Torrington in 22.79. Aiden Loya of Torrington was 2 event winner, taking the 800 in 2.02.22 and the 1600 in 4.45.06. The 3200 winner was Cody Hinman of Rawlins in 10.32.03. Over in the hurdles events, Kaden Bauersachs from Douglas won the 110 in 15.93 while Jase Smith of Rawlins won the 300 in 42.86. Over in the relays, Wheatland won the 4x100, Burns the 4x400, Buffalo the 4x800, and Torrington the 1600 medley.

In the 3A boys field events, Trennan Pierson of Douglas cleared 6-2 to win the high jump, Ben Fuller of Torrington went 21-5 to win the long jump while Jackson Kirkbride of Burns threw 41-6.75 to place first in the triple jump. Torrington's Tyler Bennick threw 46-7.75 to win the shot put and his teammate Ryan Baker threw 150-4 to win the discus. In the team standings, Torrington first with 147, Douglas 2nd with 125, and Buffalo 3rd with 115.5
