Here’s where Jackson-area girls soccer teams will open district play

Springport faces Quincy in a Big 8 soccer game on Tuesday.

JACKSON -- The MHSAA on Sunday released the tournament brackets in girls soccer.

Here is how Jackson-area teams will navigate the postseason.

Division 1

In Division 1, the Jackson Vikings open the postseason at Battle Creek Lakeview. The winner of that game will face either Portage Central or Holt in the district semifinal with Grand Ledge, Portage Northern, Lansing Everett and Kalamazoo Loy Norrix awaiting in the district final.

The district champion moves on to regional play at Caledonia.

Division 2

Jackson Northwest and Parma Western will play district games at Charlotte. The Mounties will face the hosts in the district quarterfinal with the winner of that game moving on to face the Panthers in the semifinal. The other side of that district bracket features Eaton Rapids facing Lansing Waverly with the winner of that game taking on Mason.

That district champion moves on to regional play at Harper Creek.

Division 3

Stockbridge will host a district and take on Hillsdale in the quarterfinal. The winner of that game will face either Jonesville or Columbia Central in the district semifinal.

On the other side of that district, Onsted takes on Michigan Center for the right to face Springport in the semifinal.

The winner of that district moves on to the regional at Otsego.

Division 4

Manchester received a first-round bye in its district and will face either Ann Arbor Greenhills or Monroe St. Mary in the semifinal. With a win, the Flying Dutchmen would move on to face Adrian Lenawee Christian, Blissfield or Arbor Prep.

The winner of that district moves on to the regional at Royal Oak Shrine.

In district play at Lansing Christian, the high-powered Leslie offense will take on Lumen Christi in the quarterfinal. The winner of that game faces the winner of Grass Lake and Maple Valley. On the other side of the bracket Hanover-Horton takes on Lansing Christian and Jackson Christian takes on Dansville.

The winner of that district advances to the Portage Central regional.
