The star man is a wanted man

According to reports from journalist Alan Nixon, SPL side Rangers have enquired about Bolton Wanderers’ Player of the season and top goalscorer, Dapo Afolayan.

The Europa League finalists are rumoured to have asked about his availability as they anticipate bids on their own players.

Nixon also states that Dapo is rated at £1.5 million. Not sure what to think about that.

Earlier this week, Dapo told the Bolton News how happy he was at Bolton and stated his desire to help the club achieve promotion to The Championship:

“This team has been exciting since I joined.

“It was one of the big reasons why I joined in the first place.

“There were players playing in the squad that I’ve looked up to growing up - Nathan Delfouneso, Alex Baptiste, Matt Gilks - all these players that I’ve known my whole life and it makes me want to join the club.

“It is up to us to get the club back to where it belongs. It’s been through some tough times but everyone can see that it is on the up.”

It’ll be interesting to see if an actual bid does come in for him. Fulham and Cardiff have already been linked & i’ve no doubt that after the season he’s just had, this won’t be the last rumour to surface.

Dapo would be a huge loss to the team & it will surely take a substantial fee for Ian Evatt to even consider letting him go.

In other news, Nixon has linked us with the recently released former Preston North End winger, Tom Barkhuizen. The 28 year old will be leaving PNE after five years at Deepdale. It’s suggested that Bolton face competition from Rotherham United and Wayne Rooney’s Derby County.
