State Police say four persons were injured in a golf cart wreck about eight miles south of Fairfield in Wayne County Saturday afternoon.

Preliminary investigation indicates the driver of the golf cart, 29-year-old Elyse Wiser of Nashville was traveling eastbound on Wayne County Road 50N about a half-mile west of Wayne County Road 2150E when she lost control in loose gravel and overturned.

All five occupants of the golf cart were ejected from the vehicle.

The driver along with 52-year-old Gina Wiser of Mount Juliet, Tennessee, and a five-year-old female from Barnhill were all flown to a regional hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.  Another passenger, a 17-year-old male from Barnhill, was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with serious injuries.   A fourth passenger, 41-year-old Morgan Duckworth of Barnhill, reported she was not injured.

The driver, Elyse Wiser, was ticketed for driving too fast for conditions and operating a non-highway vehicle on the roadway.

State Police say the crash is still under investigation.   It was reported at 2:29 Saturday afternoon.

A family member has indicated Elyse Wiser is from Nashville, Tennessee, and NOT Nashville, Illinois as indicated in the State Police report.
