The Miami Hurricanes have added 11 transfers to the 2022 football roster. Expect four or five Miami transfers to start for the Hurricanes in 2022. Defensive ends Mitchell Agude and Ahkeem Mesidor, linebacker Caleb Johnson and cornerback Darryl Porter Jr. are the transfers most likely to start for Miami in 2022.

Agude and Johnson transferred to Miami from UCLA. Mesidor and Porter both transferred to Miami from West Virginia. Agude started 15 of the 19 games in the two seasons he played at UCLA. Johnson started 17 of the 18 games he played with the Bruins in 2020 and 2021. Mesidor started 13 games the last two seasons.

Porter was also a starter for the Mountaineers in 2021. Agude, Johnson, Mesidor and Johnson will be key players on the Miami defense in 2022. Agude and Mesidor will compete with returnees Jahfari Harvey and Chantz Williams to start at DE in 2022. Returning starter Corey Flagg and Johnson will contend at middle LB.

Porter faces a deep Miami roster mixed with upperclassmen that need to improve over an inconsistent 2021 season and young players who could challenge for playing time in 2022. Defensive linemen Jacob Lichtenstein and Antonio Moultrie provide Miami with the versatility to play end and tackle.

Defensive tackle Darrell Jackson should have a bright future for Miami after recording 22 tackles for Maryland as a true freshman in 2021. Henry Parrish who transferred from Mississippi was the top running back for Miami this spring. Parrish could enter training camp in August as the top RB for Miami.

Frank Ladson had 31 receptions for 428 yards with six touchdowns in 30 games over eight starts the last three seasons for Clemson. Ladson has to be able to stay healthy for Miami after missing 10 games the last three seasons for Clemson. Ladson will be a key part of the Miami rotation at WR.

Jonathan Denis and Logan Sagapolu add depth to the Miami Offensive line and are not likely to be in the rotation in 2022. Mario Cristobal expects his teams to control the line of scrimmage. Seven of the 11 transfers Miami added for 2022 are on the defensive and offensive lines. The new Miami DL will make an impact in 2022.
