MIAMI - At least six people were injured when a small plane crash-landed on a bridge in Miami Saturday afternoon. The aircraft hit at least one car before bursting into flames.
The plane went down shortly before 1 p.m. on the Haulover inlet bridge.
According to Miami-Dade fire rescue, at least one vehicle was hit by the plane as it crashed.
Officials said crews responded and found the plane on fire and quickly extinguished the flames. Six people were injured, including two who were taken to a local hospital as trauma alerts. One of them was airlifted and the other was taken by the ground. Three other patients suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The condition of the sixth patient was unknown.
Authorities say the Haulover inlet bridge on Collins Avenue is closed between Sunny Isles Beach and Bal Harbour at this time.
