2 Missouri men dead after pickup strikes river embankment

ADAIR COUNTY—Two people died in an accident just after 9:30a.m. Saturday in Adair County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2021 Ford Ranger driven by Charles R. Patchin, 54, Brashear, was northbound on Route J two miles northwest of Adair.

The pickup traveled off the road, became airborne and struck a river embankment. Both the driver and passenger identified as 80-year-old Robert E. Patchin, of Brashear, were ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. They were transported to Travis Noe Funeral Home. The MSHP reported the driver and passenger were not wearing seat belts.
