NASCAR penalties issued ahead of Kansas Speedway

This weekend, NASCAR unloads at Kansas Speedway. The field has yet to take to the track. However, each team must roll through inspection before practice.

Joey Logano and Justin Haley both failed inspection two times. Per the rules, both cars will lose a crew member and pit selection.

The cars are set to roll to the track for a brief practice session. That will be followed by qualifying. On Sunday, the green flag will drop on the race.

NASCAR Inspection Rules (Pre-Qualifying)

1 Inspection failure: No penalty, the team gets to go to the back of the inspection line and try again.

2 inspection failures: If a team fails twice, NASCAR will eject a crew member and they drop to the rear.

3 inspection failures: All of the above. They’ll also serve a pass-through penalty at the start of the race.
