On Wednesday, Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic took home the NBA MVP award for the second straight season. His season stats of 27.1 points 13.8 rebounds, and 7.9 assists per game is surely deserving of the accolade. Jokic was presented the award by the NBA on TNT crew, and when he was asked by Ernie Johnson who he models his game after, one of the names Jokic mentioned was San Antonio Spurs legend Tim Duncan.

If you are a longtime Jokic and Spurs fan, then his response should not come as a shocker. Jokic has mentioned watching Duncan's game when he first came to the NBA. Last year, Jokic was asked by reporters how much Duncan influenced his game and he stated that "he is a good guy to look up to," via Reddit.

"I mean I played against him, and I always say he gave me the easiest 20 points ever. He did not feel me, for real. And he was kind of a little bit older, I think that was his last year. So, I mean, I can just imagine him in his prime... I think he knew each and every moment what he's gonna do on the floor, how he can manipulate the defense or whatever. He's a good guy to look up for."

Twitter reacts to Nikola Jokic modeling his game after former Spurs

When Spurs fans caught wind of Jokic saying some of his game was modeled after former Spurs players, fans were so excited that they tweeted the most outrageous things in response to his comments.

Here are some of the craziest tweets :

I am sure these reactions were in the heat of the moment and the fans mean no harm by it, but trading away Dejounte Murray and 10 future first-round picks for Jokic is kind of crazy.

Jokic is a great player but, unfortunately, him coming to the Spurs likely won't happen anytime soon.
