Floyd Mayweather Dubai exhibition canceled
A day ago, the Arabian Peninsula was shocked by the passing of United Arab Emirates president Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Stars from all across the board paid respect to the king’s passing including Conor McGregor and ‘Money’ himself.
Floyd Mayweather was going to face off against former sparring partner Don Moore on Saturday at the Burj Al Arab hotel helipad. Anderson Silva was on the card as well for Global Titans. ‘The Spider’ was slated to face Bruno Machado in the co-main event of the night. However, the whole event has been called off following the death of the country’s president.

Global Titans will reschedule the event
According to WAM, the official UAE news agency, government officials have suspended “work in ministries, departments, federal and local institutions, and the private sector” for the next three days due to the Sheikh Khalifa’s passing.
In a statement released by Global Titans following the king’s death, the promotion announced its plans to put together the event at a later date.
“Out of deepest respect and due to these unforeseen circumstances of Force Majeure, the Global Titans Dubai event which was scheduled to take place on May 14th at the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah has been postponed until further notice, with a new date to be announced very soon.”
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and reassure fans that this spectacular event will be staged in future.”
There have been talks of pushing the event back to next weekend as Mayweather and Moore have been promoting the fight for the last few days there. No comments regarding the cancelation have been made by Mayweather.
