Trump says Musk won’t buy Twitter. ‘No way,’ he posts to rival social media platform

There is “no way” Elon Musk will buy Twitter at “such a ridiculous price” given that many users are “BOTS or Spam Accounts,” former U.S. President Donald Trump posted Friday to his new social media platform, Truth Social.

“Fake anyone?” Trump posted, Mashable reports. “By the time you get rid of them, if that can even be done, what do you have? Not much? If it weren’t for the ridiculous Billion Dollar breakup fee, Elon would have already been long gone.”

He went on to praise Truth Social in a post that received nearly 11,000 “ReTruths” and nearly 34,000 likes.

Musk on Friday tweeted that his Twitter deal was “temporarily on hold pending details supporting calculation that spam/fake accounts do indeed represent less than 5% of users.”

Twitter had 229 million users who were served advertising in its first quarter, according to a May 2 Reuters article Musk tweeted.

Trump began posting on Truth Social late last month, nearly three months after the platform launched, Mashable reported.

His first post, according to the news outlet: “I’M BACK! #COVFEFE.”
