Patrick Reed-linked Twitter account strikes again with tweet on USPGA

A Twitter account linked to Patrick Reed has revealed that the PGA Tour player was allegedly denied a yardage book when he visited Southern Hills to prepare for the PGA Championship.

@useGolfFACTS criticised the treatment of Reed at the Oklahoma venue after Tiger Woods played a practice round with the club's director of golf Cary Cozby ahead of the PGA Championship.

"Patrick Reed showed up the week prior to play Southern Hills… they told him they didn’t have any yardage books that he could buy/use to play his prac rounds. This isn’t about Tiger Woods or Patrick Reed - this is about fair treatment," @useGolfFACTS tweeted on Friday.

It is unclear whether this claim is actually true. According to @NUCLRGOLF, Cary Cozby revealed that Reed spent two days at Southern Hills on a scouting mission, spending much of his time on the greens.

When an image was posted on social media of Woods and Cozby working together during a practice round at the USPGA host venue, @useGolfFACTS was quick to jump on this.

"I wonder what it’s like to have the Director of Golf at Southern Hills give you ALL the course notes you need for the upcoming @PGAChampionship. Do all players get this treatment @PGA? For @TigerWoods this is just embarrassing that @PGA posted this photo & it’s very telling," @useGolfFACTS tweeted on May 1.

This account is rumoured to be linked to the former Masters champion and this speculation began in October 2021 when it suggested that footage of Reed moving sand in a bunker at the 2019 Hero World Open was digitally altered.

The account joined Twitter in December 2019, but despite its short existence and having only posted 278 tweets, it has gained 25,900 followers.

We are only dealing with rumours in terms of who the account is linked to, however, the pattern and subject of its tweets are very interesting.
