EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders has revealed the aftermath of Ben Mitchell's betrayal, as Callum struggles to move on.

Ben (Max Bowden) betrayed his husband Callum in Thursday's episode (May 12) by sharing a brief kiss with newcomer Lewis.

Although Ben did ultimately think better of it, sadly it was too late as a heartbroken Callum had already seen everything.

Next week's episodes will explore the aftermath of Ben's mistake as Callum reels from what's happened.

Despite Ben insisting the kiss meant nothing, Callum breaks up with him.

After Lewis tries to make Callum see sense, Callum shows Ben the keys to their flat, proving he's serious about their future.

Callum is keen to set some ground rules and orders Ben not to see Lewis again. He also assures him he won't tell the police the truth about the attacks, but insists that he won't be so forgiving if anything ever happens like this again.

Despite promising to move forward, Callum is still struggling with Ben's betrayal later in the week.

Lewis, on the other hand, appears to feel no remorse at all and tells Ben that Callum simply needs to get over it.

With Callum torn over what to do, he is inspired following a chat with Frankie and realises he does want his marriage to work after all.

Callum promises to give Ben another chance and suggests they go to The Albert, but can he really move on?

Discussing whether his alter-ego can forgive and forget, Tony Clay – who plays Callum – said to Digital Spy: "In Callum's mind, it's about whether it's something that he can forgive and whether it is something that they can move past, especially at this stage, so early on in the marriage.

"To be honest, it probably is. But as things unravel, he starts to wonder whether it is something that he can put up with."

This story is ultimately paving the way for Lewis to rape Ben in a harrowing story, airing at the end of the month.

EastEnders continues on Monday, May 16 at 7.30pm on BBC One.
