Update:A Bondurant man has been identified as the victim in a fatal head-on crash east of Ankeny Friday night. The Polk County Sheriff's Office says Zackery Robert Brown, 32, died in the crash.The sheriff’s office continues to investigate the crash. Stay with KCCI has more updates become available. Previously:One man is dead Friday after a head-on crash east of Ankeny, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.The crash was reported at 4:15 p.m. at Northeast 78th Avenue and Northeast 38th Street.According to the sheriff's office, a red Chevrolet Cruz was traveling eastbound on 78th Avenue when the driver attempted to pass another eastbound vehicle.The driver crossed the center line and collided head-on with a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.The truck was driven by a man, who has not yet been named. He had two passengers in in the truck. All three were transported to the hospital by ambulance. The man is reportedly in critical condition. The two passengers, who are juveniles, are in stable condition.The 32-year-old driver of the Cruz died on scene. His name has not yet been released.This is a developing story. One man is dead Friday after a head-on crash east of Ankeny, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

The crash was reported at 4:15 p.m. at Northeast 78th Avenue and Northeast 38th Street.

According to the sheriff's office, a red Chevrolet Cruz was traveling eastbound on 78th Avenue when the driver attempted to pass another eastbound vehicle.
