When Celtic signed Joe Hart in the summer from Tottenham Hotspur, a lot of eyebrows were raised for sure. It was clear that the club needed to bring in a new goalkeeper after the struggles that Vasilis Barkas, Scott Bain and Conor Hazard endured last season. But not many would have expected them to go after the Manchester City legend believed to be well past his prime at that point of time.

Hart has come in and made a much bigger impact than most fans could have imagined. Not only has he been solid between the posts, but he has also been a vocal leader, something that the club needed after losing Scott Brown in the summer.

He has been an ever present in the starting XI as the club have won the Scottish League Cup and Premiership double.

Thus, after it had looked like his time as a first-team goalkeeper was well and truly up, Hart must be delighted with being a key part of a league-winning side once again. And as reported by 67 Hail Hail, while speaking with Celtic’s official YouTube channel, he said about his experience with the Glasgow giants:

"“Everything it was sold to me as – it’s that and more.“It’s everything that I want to be a part of, especially at this point of my career. The last couple of years in football weren’t what I wanted them to be. But life is not perfect and football is not perfect.“I went through that period and kept my head down and believed something good would come from it – I’m living that now.”"

Hart seems to be delighted with the experience he has had at Celtic till now

Celtic fans must be delighted with the decision that the club made to bring in Hart in the summer, even though it might not have been a popular one at that point of time.

He has done a great job for the club. Yes, he is 35 years of age and not a long-term solution between the posts, but with the way that he is playing, there is no reason that he cannot continue for a season or two more.

Of course, his brilliant form in goal is expected to bring an end to the Celtic career of Barkas, with the Greek goalkeeper rumoured to be heading out of Parkhead this summer after not even making the bench for the majority of the campaign.
