HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Hastings College Foundation’s Gary Freeman plans to leave his role as executive director next month.

Freeman, a 1993 graduate and who has held the executive director position since 2013, has accepted a new job with the Suzanne and Walter Scott Foundation and related Family Foundations. His last day at Hastings College will be June 3.

He along with Executive President Dr. Rich Lloyd and Foundation Board Chair Kim Dinsdale are working on a transition plan to include a way for Freeman to stay connected to the college.

During his time with Hastings College, the foundation continued to grow its support of the institution and its endowment, which reached $100 million earlier this year. The foundation also supported the construction of the Jackson Dinsdale Art Center, renovation of the Daugherty Center for Student Engagement and many other projects on campus.

“I want to thank all of my friends and colleagues at Hastings College for their great work on behalf of this institution,” Freeman said. “Hastings College is and will forever be a big part of who I am and I will always be a Bronco! I look forward to staying closely connected to HC and offering assistance in any way I can.”
