(670 The Score) The White Sox on Friday placed ace Lucas Giolito on the COVID-related injured list and activated outfielder Andrew Vaughn from the injured list.

Giolito isn’t scheduled to pitch next until Monday at Kansas City. The COVID-related injured list has no time designation, so players are free to return from it once deemed healthy.

Giolito is 2-1 with a 2.70 ERA and 1.13 WHIP in five starts this season.

Vaughn had been out since April 29 due to a bruised right hand. He’s hitting .283 with four homers and 12 RBIs in 16 games.

The White Sox host the Yankees at Guaranteed Rate Field on Friday evening.
